What TattooGen Is
TattooGen is a set of design tools built around one job: helping you arrive at the tattoo studio with a clear, personal brief. You describe an idea in plain words, the design agent turns it into original tattoo concepts, and the tools around it let you preview the design on a real body, convert it to stencil line work, and estimate what it will cost.
We are a design tool, not a tattoo studio. Everything TattooGen produces is a concept and a starting point. A professional tattoo artist should always review, redraw and approve the final artwork for your body, your size and your skin before any tattooing happens.
How It Works
- Describe your idea. A subject, a memory, a phrase, a mood. One honest sentence beats a paragraph of buzzwords.
- Pick a style and placement. Choose from 28 styles, from blackwork and Japanese to fine line and watercolor, and tell the agent where the tattoo will live.
- Generate and compare. Create fresh designs made for your brief, hold the subject steady and compare styles side by side until one direction feels like yours.
- Preview, stencil, plan. Try the design on your own photo, export a stencil for your artist, and check the likely cost before you book.

- Honesty over hype. We say what the tools can and cannot do. Previews are planning aids, not photographs of a finished tattoo, and our guides say so.
- The artist finishes the work. AI drafts, humans tattoo. Every page on this site points you back to a licensed artist for the final artwork.
- Privacy by default. The try on and stencil tools run in your browser, so your body photos stay on your device.
- Judge us on free designs. Your first designs are free with no sign up. We would rather earn trust on output than on promises.
